Conference location

The conference will be held on the Minneapolis campus of the University of Minnesota in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building, 200 Union St SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455 in room 3-180.

Hotel

Hotel accomodations are available at the Radisson Hotel Metrodome (known earlier as Radisson University Hotel), 615 Washington Av SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. The hotel is conveniently located 1 block from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science building.

We have negotiated with the hotel an excellent special rate of $99.00 per single and double occupancy.
To receive the special rate, reservations must be made before June 18, 2006. You have to mention you will attend the DARS conference to receive the special rate. Reservation can be made by contacting the hotel at 612-379-8888, or through the toll-free number 1-800-822-6757 or through Radisson Worldwide at 1-800-333-3333.
You need to reserve soon because the rooms at the special rate will most likely be sold out before the cutoff date

How to get to the hotel and to the conference site from the Airport

Shuttle
You do not need a reservation, but if you want to make a reservation call 800-BLUE-VAN or book online at http://www.supershuttle.com/ and click on the ONLINE RESERVATIONS tab.
When you arrive at the airport, claim your luggage, and proceed to the lower level (follow signs to ground transportation). Continue to follow the signs upstairs to the Scheduled Van/Hotel Shuttle Van loading area. SuperShuttle is conveniently located inside the terminal by the loading area. One way fare is $15.00 (you can get a $2.00 discount on the return trip if you purchase the return trip ticket at the airport ticket counter)

Taxi/Cab
When you arrive at the airport, claim your luggage, and proceed to the lower level (follow signs to ground transportation). Continue to follow the signs upstairs to the Taxi/Cab loading area. Taxi fare to campus and to the hotel is $23-25.

Metro Transit Bus/Light Rail from/to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
You need with exact change, dollar bills and coins, no change will be given. The time it will take is 35-40 minutes. The cost is $1.50 non-peak, $2.00 Peak (M-F 6-9 am and 3-6:30 pm)

From the airport:

  1. Catch the airport shuttle from the main terminal (it is free and fast) to the LRT station.
  2. Take a train and get off at the Metrodome.
  3. Board an MTC bus Number 16 eastbound on 4th St. in front of the LRT terminal.
  4. Get off the bus at Union Street. It is the stop after the Coffman Student Union. Go to the next light, cross the street and you will see the Radisson Hotel on your right. The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science building is to your left, on the other side of the parking ramp. Look at the map above for the location of the bus stop and of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science building.
To the airport:
  1. Board an MTC bus Number 16 westbound on Washington Ave. in front of the Washington Avenue Ramp.
  2. Request a rail transfer from the driver while boarding and keep it.
  3. Get off at the Metrodome, 4th St. and Chicago Ave. and cross 4th street to the LRT terminal.
  4. Board the LRT eastbound train (away from downtown).
  5. Exit at the Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport.
  6. Ride the escalator up, then catch an airport shuttle to the main terminal (it is free and fast).
